Bangers

Following a successful stint as a breakfast delivery service, Bangers set up home in Leonard Circus earlier this year. This breakfast bar is quickly establishing itself as a favourite in Shoreditch, and after its first sizzling summer, we were keen to try some items from their menu.

As you walk in, you are greeted by friendly faces from the team and a sign saying ‘Hello Sausage’, so this place knows how to put a spring in your step straight away! Bangers have kept things classic and laid-back with their design choices. White tiles, comfy red seats and pictures on the walls that nod to the good old fashioned cooked breakfast make the place feel instantly comforting and hint that you’re in for some really good grub.

Bangers offers a whole host of hearty sausage sandwich options, starring their signature smashed sausage patty in either an English muffin or a brioche bun. Rest assured they take their sausages sandwiches seriously here and the result is delicious! We sampled a couple of their staples – including the veggie sausage sandwich – which contains their meat-free spin on the original smashed sausage along with a fried egg and melted cheese to seal the deal. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted as great as it looked!  Bangers source their sandwich ingredients from local, organic suppliers and their commitment to using top notch produce all comes through in the food. With guaranteed golden yolks, sausage blends that are unique to Bangers’ sausages, and soft fresh bread delivered daily, these sarnies really speak for themselves.

Whilst Bangers specialise in sausages, they also offer a range of bacon sandwiches and scrumptious sides to add to your order. We recommend the hashbrowns for a bit of added crunch as well as the sauces that are made in-house. Bangers also provide some sweet options such as on-the-go yoghurt and oats pots. The coffee here is also delicious and provides the perfect additional boost with your breakfast. If you’ve been on the lookout for a new breakfast spot in the City, Bangers have everything you need to set you up for the day!

Day of the Dead

As the nights draw in and autumn arrives, it’s celebration season at Wahaca as the Mexican-inspired restaurant gears up to mark Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. This joyous, colourful fiesta is observed throughout Mexico and beyond every November, with family and friends getting together to celebrate and remember the lives of their loved ones passed – and Wahaca will be joining in the festivities at each of its 14 restaurants across the UK from now until 12th November.

Of course, no celebration is complete without a fabulous feast and October marks the launch of a delicious new Wahaca menu, right in time for the fiesta. Making their debut for the season are a trio of show-stopping Chef Specialities – generous plates served with rice or tortillas that are perfect for sharing. We love this spot for some exceedingly good grub, whether it’s a plate of nachos or some tacos, you simply can’t go wrong. A spot to add to your list this month.

Diwali In The City

Indian barbecue restaurant Brigadiers will also partake in Diwali festivities from 25th October to 2nd November. Spotlighting the restaurant’s most-favoured dishes, the Diwali Tasting menu (£90pp)  includes BBQ Butter Chicken Wings and Sikandari Kid Goat Shoulder, alongside sweet treats such as Apple Jalebi and Gajjar Halwa Pie.
