Here’s some fabulous spots to dine at this month. Read on to find out more.

KöD

Situated in Devonshire Square, this slick and sophisticated dining spot in the City is the perfect choice for steak lovers. If you’re heading here for a client lunch, this spot is a wonderful dining joint that will impress with ease. The interiors of this place are both, slick and sophisticated. The lunch menu is great, if you’re a steak lover we highly recommend trying the Wagyu Grade A4. The steak is cooked extremely well and the team at KöD do really take the time to ensure that the steak is up to the standard of the diner. The steak was both tender and delicious along with the truffle fries. However, if steak isn’t your thing we’d recommend trying the pan-roasted stone bass which is tasty, fresh and light. They also host a great cocktails list.

Every Sunday KöDs do an amazing all you can eat menu. This tender tri-tip roast and chicken wings with side orders: Steak Chips à la KöD, seasonal salad & Madagascar pepper sauce is the perfect Sunday treat. KöD will also be launching a second site in Soho in mid July, a great treat if you’re out of the City on the weekend.

Out of the City

Seoul Bird

Now, if you’re a lover of fried chicken then this place needs to be added to your list. The signature Seoul burger is wonderful and worth trying – we opted for Korean fried chicken which was tossed in their signature sauce, mayo, red onion, and iceberg lettuce, absolutely delicious. The wings are also delicious and worth trying. However, rest assure if you’re in the mood to try something apart from chicken then you’re in luck because this place does amazing dumplings which come in a choice of chicken and veggies or tofu and veggies. The jap chae noodles are also a great choice for those wanting to try something apart from chicken. We were impressed by the cocktail menu at Seoul Bird – the Apple Mojito is sweet and perfect on a summer’s day. The service is also wonderful here – the staff are both friendly and attentive. This is a fantastic casual dining spot that delivers on great fried chicken, casual vibes and fantastic cocktails.

Balans

There’s something quite special about Balans. If you’ve ever visited this restaurant then you’ll know to expect good tasting, hearty dishes that will hit the spot. This weekend, the team at City Matters had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant and it certainly delivered on many variables. We loved the slick yet casual feel on this dining spot. On arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff. For starters, the crab cakes are a wonderful choice. For mains, the chicken enchiladas are delicious. Another dish that you simply can’t go wrong with on this menu is their fish and chips. One thing to note about this restaurant is that portions are generous and dishes are presented beautifully. They also host a lovely cocktail menu – perfect for those summer nights, our tipple of choice is the Mojito. We were pleasantly surprised by Balans, the food is fantastic, the vibes are great and the attention of detail from staff is amazing. A spot to add to your list this month.
