Sip, sip hooray – it’s Afternoon Tea Week! To celebrate the most tea-riffic week of the year (12th – 18th August), we’ve rounded up some of the best themed and luxury afternoon teas in London and beyond.

Bonpoint Afternoon Tea & Infinity Pool Pop-Up at Pan Pacific London

Pan Pacific London’s children’s Afternoon Tea and infinity pool experience is perfect for all the family. The tea features sweet treats and finger sandwiches in Bonpoint’s spring colours, whilst the hotel’s SENSORY floor offers a transformed infinity pool area with deckchairs, parasols, and themed pool floats during children’s swim hours. Children aged 6-16 can also enjoy special Bonpoint spa treatments, including The Dreamy Treatment for parent-child duos.

Theatre Royal Drury Lane

This is the only theatre in London serving a truly unique Regency Afternoon Tea in the beautifully restored Grand Saloon, a marble-lined Regency room with twinkling chandeliers and a fine art collection. This Regency Afternoon Tea offers canapé style savoury bites created by The Lane’s chefs that include a bitesize English crumpet topped with Earl Grey infused cream cheese and John Ross Jnr smoked salmon; a savoury madeleine with whipped English feta and pickled heritage carrot; and a Coronation chicken pie with caramelised onion chutney.   • Sansgria – Recently awarded the Great Taste Award 1*, the Sansgria is made from wine grapes and secret spices and botanicals. Notes of blackcurrant and blackberry, clov, and orange zest.

Celebrating the day with tea and extraordinary cakes in one of Mayfair’s most beautiful rooms is an unforgettable London experience. Rather than breaking with tradition, The Dorchester reinvents it with award-winning Pastry Chef Michael Kwan bringing bold new flavours combined with precise and creative craftsmanship, reflecting the British spirit of the hotel. Guests are invited to relax in the grand surroundings, sip Champagne and fine teas, whilst sampling delicate finger sandwiches, light-as-a-feather scones, and jewel-like seasonal cakes and pastries such as Strawberry roulade and Pistachio choux with apricot compote. Enjoy an extensive selection of 20+ fine teas from luxury tea company Newby London, along with a carefully curated menu from celebrity chef Benoît Blin, who’s given this quintessential British custom a French twist at The Cadogan in the heart of Chelsea, with prices starting at £50 per person. The Tea Collection consists of some of Newby’s classic award-winning blends, including Assam and Darjeeling, as well as an exclusive house tea, The Cadogan Blend.
