Despite busy schedules, staff at The Royal London Hospital used their personal time to take part in a special performance of ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’.
The music video and single, which will be released on YouTube and streaming platforms on Friday 18 December, features staff from across The Royal London Hospital playing instruments, singing, dancing and bringing festive cheer to the hospital, all while socially distancing.
The aim of the video was to boost staff morale and bring some much-needed joy, after a difficult year and during a time we’re unable to celebrate with each other as normal.
The video was produced by Dr Duncan Mitchell, an anaesthetist at The Royal London Hospital following on from the vision of Dr Marie Healy, divisional director and critical care consultant, who wanted to showcase the spirit of the hospital to the local community.

Dr Healy said: “Our wonderful, dedicated staff love a challenge, especially one with a tight deadline. We hope it will inspire all those who view it.”
Dr Mitchell said: “I have been so humbled by the amazing generosity of our volunteer external professionals who used their own equipment and gave up their own time to direct, choreograph, record and edit the song to make the staff’s vision a reality.”
Any proceeds from the song, and donations via the JustGiving page, will go towards wellbeing projects benefitting staff, patients and relatives through Barts Charity.
