Qvevris Saperavi (£19.99,75cl) – Made using 100% Saperavi, and the ‘qvevri’ method, where juice is fermented with the grape skins in giant clay pots (qvevris) buried in the ground. This creates red wines that are thicker in texture, spicier, more peppery and meaty in character versus conventional red wine. Dark violet in colour, with a well-balanced tannin structure and offers aromas of ripe cherry and red berries, is an ideal pairing with meats such as roasted lamb, steak and pork.

Available to buy at Laithwaites/Direct Wines.
