Street food stalls are returning to the City of London as the historic Guildhall Yard lunch markets reopen from 23 June. It’s exactly what we need now that everything is opening up and workers return to the area.
Stalls will be serving up food from across the globe – covering everything from Turkish wraps to paella, Thai and Chinese dishes to German hotdogs and Mexican burritos.
These markets become hugely popular with local workers and residents before the pandemic hit, and we are so pumped to to see them back. Bring back the lively Square Mile streets, full of delicious smells wafting though the air.

And visitors are also being encouraged to take reusable lunch boxes to the market, which runs from 12.00 – 14.30.
Meanwhile, from August there are plans to hold evening food markets at Guildhall Yard. We are waiting for more deets but will definitely let you know more as soon as we can.
Chair of the City of London Corporation’s Culture, Heritage and Libraries Committee, Wendy Hyde, said “These food markets are a fantastic addition to the Square Mile, serving up a vast range of delicious cuisines from all over the world.
“Culture, heritage and hospitality are at the heart of the history of the City and help make it so special. The vibrancy is fast returning.
“I’m sure visitors, workers and residents are eager to tuck into this fabulous food – and show support for the businesses that provide it.”
