London businesses given recognition at the Lord Mayor’s Dragon Awards

For over 30 years the Lord Mayor’s Dragon Awards have been recognising London-based companies and their commitment to responsible business practises and social impact, and six London-based firms and one volunteering champion have come out on top.

Held by the City of London Corporation the award ceremony at The Mansion House saw the businesses be handed trophies for their volunteering, regeneration projects, support for ethnic minority young people from low-income families, and ethnic minority young people from low-income families.

The winners were Standard Chartered Bank, St George, 10x Banking, Mediorite & PwC, Tempo Time Credits, Dot Dot Fire, and Julie Tucker.

Lord Mayor Nicholas Lyons told guests that, since being launched in 1987, the awards scheme had played a fundamental role in raising the profile of businesses that have pioneered meaningful impact, changing lives, and regenerating communities.

Speaking after the awards ceremony, Lord Mayor of the City of London, Nicholas Lyons, said: “Walking away this evening with one of our Dragon Awards, they can feel rightly proud of their achievements and the tangible difference they’ve made to people’s lives.”
