Here’s our pick of fabulous food spots to try this month.
The Kati Roll Company brings flavours from Kolkata to London Liverpool Street. This is a wonderful spot to visit for your lunchtime fix. Despite there being many grab and go spots in the City that are perfect for that lunch fix, this one really stood out to us. If you’re keen to sit in and enjoy the casual feel of this spot – you’ll instantly love how comfortable you feel with ease. However, if you’re in a rush, we’d recommend grabbing thee chicken tikka roll, the meat is tender and moist. The flavours are balanced and this roll has the perfect amount of kick. These rolls are filling, delicious and the perfect lunch fix. And that mango lassi – absolutely incredible. Need we say more?

Farmer J
We are huge fans of Farmer J but it’s with good reason. Farmer J has launched new Salad Bowls, now available at all sites (excluding Finsbury Avenue and Canada Place). The new Salad Bowl recipes include Harissa Chicken Tahini, Aubergine Chickpea Tahini and Salmon Kale Miso. Farmer J has also introduced new Fieldtray options, including Ponzu Sesame Broccoli, Yellow Courgette, Green Bean & Oregano, and J’s Feta & Hertiage Tomato. A great spot to try during your lunch break and to help you to stay on track with your calories.

Bar+Block
If you’re after a hearty lunch in the City, then look no further than Bar+Block. With a few dotted around the City our restaurant of choice is the Aldgate branch. This is the perfect spot in the City to enjoy a lunch with colleagues. The portions are generously sized and really do hit the spot. For starters, the tomato bruschetta is light, fresh and perfect for the summer months. For mains, the 14oz Spiral Cut Angus Ribeye is a great choice. However, if steak isn’t your preferred choice then we highly recommend trying the red pepper and harissa chicken burger. The cocktails at this joint are also superb and most certainly worth trying. The service is also fabulous here – staff are friendly are speedy with the food. A great dining experience.

Pizza Pilgrims – Liverpool St
If you’re in the mood for some seriously good pizza then it’s without a doubt that you need to check out Pizza Pilgrims. With a few dotted around the City, our Pizza Pilgrims of choice is the Liverpool Street Branch. On arrival, you’ll notice how pleasant and welcoming the staff are. For drinks, the Classic Negroni is a wonderful choice but if you’re more of a Aperol enthusiast then be sure to opt for the Aperol Spritz – perfect for the summer nights. For starters, the smoked mozzarella bites, rolled in a light breadcrumb & fried to cheese-pull perfection are absolutely divine. The cacio e pepe balls are also another great addition to the table. If you’re after a slice of margherita heaven then it’s almost mandatory that you try the margherita extra-extra. However, if you like you’re pizza with a bit of a kick, then the nduja is a great option. However, the star of the show for the team at City Matters is the Ferrero Rocher Espresso Martini. This classic espresso martini with hazelnut liquor and served with a Ferrero Rocher is perfect for those social media shots but also tastes absolutely delicious. The service at this spot is also fantastic and we highly recommend adding this place to your list of joints to visit for an exceedingly good slice or two of pizza.
