Give me six hours to chop down a tree, and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe. ― Abraham Lincoln
Where do you see yourself in 2024? December is the perfect time to take stock and reflect on the highs and lows of the old year before setting out your stall for the coming one. And even though the world is changing faster than we can blink, it’s satisfying to see that some old tools are still being used by business leaders in the know, including the SMART system for setting goals. Make sure your goals are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound. After all, as Antoine de Saint-Exupéry so famously said, ‘A goal without a plan is just a wish.’
But don’t forget to also find time to unwind and escape from the economic and international gloom that have been oppressing so many of this year so that you can return fresh and ready for whatever 2024 has in store. If making connections – whether as a route to new business or a way to find meaningful collaborators – is one of your goals, then why not commit to attending at least one Business Junction a month in the coming year? Consistency – seeing and being seen – is what networking is all about, and short of sending a sedan to ferry you back and forth, we could hardly make it easier for you to attend!
See below for how we’re going to see out the year in style this month. And if you’re eager to get something in the diary for 2024, click here for a lookahead to later in the year and secure your place now: so successful were our November events that we had to turn some unlucky people away.

Anyone familiar with the Business Junction knows that we love to party, and we do it in style! Somehow, though, we still manage to make meaningful new connections and find great opportunities for new business and collaborations. We defy you to attend any (or all) of these events and not feel thoroughly festive.
We kick off with lunch at the prestigious private members’ club at the Lansdowne in Green Park. The event will be held in the elegant, Grade II listed Ballroom, originally designed in the 18th century by Robert Adam as the Library and later remodelled to house the renowned Lansdowne Collection of classical statuary. The room has recently been refurbished and features spectacular 24-carat gold leaf vaulted ceilings and minstrel galleries. And as if that wasn’t enough to whet your appetite, you’ll love the substantial seasonal buffet lunch. You can find out more here but as the menu features mulled wine and Christmas pudding, what else really would you need to know?!
What’s Christmas without a champagne breakfast?! On the 12th, kindly supported by Julian White Wines, we’ll be at The Orchard, an exclusive new Clubspace within The Portman Estate, located at One Great Cumberland Place. Come and enjoy impressive views across Hyde Park as you connect with a wide range of business guests and set up a host of business opportunities for 2024! More here
Why have one Christmas lunch when you can have two?! That’s two (more) opportunities to head into the seasonal break with a stocking full of new connections! We’ll be ending the year in style at the luxurious boutique South Place Hotel designed by Conran + Partners, with inspired details and playful touches that mirror the vibrant neighbourhood, in a deft mix of London’s most historic quarters and the achingly cool East End. You’ve drunk all the drinks, eaten as much turkey and Christmas pudding as you can stomach, binge-watched all those old movies and series you’d been meaning to catch up on. Now what? How about spending a few hours reviewing the connections you made in 2023, reach out to wish them a happy new year and set up a few meetings to kickstart 2024? It’s a great way to ease yourself back to work and take advantage of the hunger and positivity that so many people have in January.
About Business Junction
Famously inclusive and informal, our popular events typically host business owners, directors and senior management from a rich mix of sectors. Professional hosts actively facilitate business-to- business connections, helping your company raise its profile and forge valuable new connections. An attendee list is circulated in advance to enable people to better prepare themselves, and making post-event follow-up simple and straightforward.
Company membership costs only £300 +VAT for a year – that’s around 50 events at some of London’s finest venues, the potential for over 2,000 in-person meetings, and online access and exposure to the entire membership, including a host of special offers.
